The Westlake High School Crochet/Knitting Club and Westlake Porter Public Library invite local yarn enthusiasts to contribute to a community crochet/knitted wildflower garden to be displayed in WPPL’s lobby this spring. Drop off is March 18-22 at the Circulation Desk.
Join public libraries and partners this spring for Bite Into Books, an NEA Big Read celebration, to read, discuss, and celebrate Bite by Bite, Aimee Nezhukumatathil’s essay collection on the foods that shape our stories.
Read 100 books before graduating high school! Log your reading in Beanstack and each badge that you earn along the way is equal to one entry into a quarterly grand prize raffle for a gift card. Read 100 total books and earn a WPPL coffee tumbler.
Will you be traveling abroad in the future? Make your first stop WPPL where we can take photos and process passport applications. Find more information on U.S. Passport Services. Bon voyage!
Join us at blogs.westlakelibrary.org for info about books, movies, crafts, and much more!

WPPL accepts applications for energetic and creative teens to help with a variety of tasks and programs around the Library during two sessions every year: the summer and the academic school year. As space permits, we do accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the school year.
This is a great opportunity for teens in grades 8-12 to give back to their community, get service hours in a fun, relaxed environment, and boost their college applications!

We are no longer accepting applications to volunteer during the 2025-2026 school year. Check back in May for applications for our Summer 2026 volunteer session. Contact Youth Services with questions.
