Circulation Senior Assistant II – 20 Hours (two positions)

November 16, 2022

Qualifications

HS degree required. Library experience or experience working with the public preferred. Experience with Windows-based OS including Word and Excel. Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions. Must have the ability to work effectively and communicate with a wide variety of co-workers and members of the general public. Must be self- motivated, be courteous and possess tact and teamwork skills. Ability to become certified as a Passport Acceptance Agent is required.

Brief Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Circulation Services, this position provides excellent customer service in charging out and discharging all library materials borrowed by patrons, as well as directing them to the appropriate resources within the library. Processes passport requests. Responsible for maintaining good public relations by using tact and providing friendly service.

Hours

20 Hours per week. Daytime, Evening and Weekend Hours Required

Brief Job Description

Under supervision of the Adult Services Manager, assists patrons in locating materials or information, assists with library computer and other equipment and processes. Plans and implements programs for patrons. Creates and stocks displays. Compiles booklists, bibliographies, etc., as requested. Responsible for providing excellent customer service.

Adult Services Makerspace Associate – 20 hours (two positions)

  • Library experience preferred
Brief Job Description

Under the supervision of the Adult Services Manager, instructs and assists library patrons in the use of makerspace equipment and software such as sound recording gear, 3D printers, vinyl and craft cutters, CNC machines, laser engravers, sewing machines, heat press, etc. Plans programs and offers 1-on-1 and small group instruction to a variety of ages including youth and adults. Responsible for providing excellent customer service.
